I am building a hangar home in northern Michigan. 4y4 airport in Mancelona, Michigan 49659. Looking for a 50' wide by 16' tall door with windows. Hangar will be heated, so door needs to be well sealed. Hangar will likely be steel. But will quote it both ways. Leaning towards schweiss strapped bi fold with remote. Originally wanted hydraulic, but your site has me nervous about snow load and its removal from the truss. Depending on cost, may just put in two of them vs overhead doors at the other end? Looking for quotes and or additonal guidance.

We have a large hangar door (approx 50 X 20), about 25 years old, with two motors on our company hangar in northern Minnesota at Grand Marais/Cook County airport. We are looking to replace the company hangar and looking for a hydraulic door but have concerns about snow and ice with the hydraulic door.

Hi, my company is just starting a project to provide plans/specs for a small Snow Removal Equipment (SRE) building at a small municipal airport in northern Wisconsin. Would like hangar type door rather than individual narrower doors for separate bays. Looking for info on door(s) that would have 42' wide x 16'foot high clear openings. Interested in costs for door/operator/shipping; and interested in reaction values for building structural design. Feel free to call w any questions. I think we'd be interested in bifold vs. single leaf hydraulic. Thanks for any feedback; call with any questions! I marked "no" but you are very welcome to call my cell anytime.

I have a 50’ hydraulic door that I am not overly happy with. I can’t use it frequently in the winter because of ice and snow building up under. I wish I would have thought of the snow plow effect of a hydraulic swing door. Do you have a solution for this? Can I replace just the door with a bi fold door?
