Most door manufacturers can build a door, but very few are able to build big custom-made doors like Schweiss Doors Europe, manufacturers of bifold liftstrap and hydraulic one-piece doors for all applications ranging from agriculture, industrial, commercial, residential to aircraft use. Proof of that was a recent order for a very large bifold liftstrap hangar door that was just installed on a private jet owners corporate hangar at the Kielce Airport in Poland.
"The owner, a property developer, was very pleased with the final outcome and the quality of the door which will be used for his private jet aircraft. We install hundreds of doors throughout Europe and we were very grateful to be able to satisfy this hangar owners needs."

Schweiss Doors Europe
A team of professional door installers from Schweiss Doors Europe's Polish agents at Alstal went right to work after having the door shipped directly from the Schweiss factory by ferry and truck; a total of 1,200 miles. Alstal represents Schweiss Doors Europe in Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Romania and Bulgaria.
"In a coordinated effort between Schweiss Doors Europe and our engineers and production staff our Polish agent visited several times to advise them and answer any questions on the large door from start to finish. The owner, a property developer, was very pleased with the final outcome and the quality of the door which will be used for his private jet aircraft. We install hundreds of doors throughout Europe and we were very grateful to be able to satisfy this hangar owners needs," said David Naylor, owner of Schweiss Doors Europe.
Windows made of 1.36-inch polycarbonate opaque material stretch across the length of the door to add natural light to the inside of the new hangar.
The large 93.9 ft. wide x 34.9 ft. tall bifold door installed on a new steel hangar was designed for Category 4 windload and heavier cladding. If was fitted with full safety features which included autolatches, strap tension sensors, top overrides, photo eye sensors, bottom safety edge and internal and external beacon/sounders. One dozen liftstraps, rated to carry 29,000 lbs. each, easily lift and lower the heavy 93.9 ft. all-steel frame 20,000 lb. door.
A large row of windows made out of a band of 1.36-inch polycarbonate opaque material and manufactured by Rodeca were placed above the external door strengthening truss. The cladding is 1.36 inch Micro-rib composite by Kingspan Cladding.
Naylor said that several other potential clients were waiting to see the finished door in operation and may be placing orders of their own in the near future.
One dozen liftstraps, each rated at 29,000 lbs, easily lift and lower the heavy 93.9 ft. Schweiss bifold hangar door. All Schweiss doors are equipped with heavy-duty top hinges on the doorframe to evenly distribute the load on the door and building truss header.
A heavy-duty truss and extra metal in the right places eliminates any bowing or sagging when the door is opened or closed. With the exterior cladding and interior lining on the door it has an estimated weight of 20,000 lbs.
The Schweiss bifold was designed for Category 4 windload and heavier cladding. If was fitted with full safety features which included autolatches, strap tension sensors, top overrides, photo eye sensors, bottom safety edge and internal and external beacon/sounders.
