I am building a boathouse, and am interested in the bi-fold doors with remote control. It has 2 bays each 10' wide with a 3' walkway between them. I could do one large door or 2 smaller doors, whichever is less $ if there is a significant difference. I need to decide fairly quickly to submit permits as the work is ready to start soon. I have been looking at 2 sliding barn doors up until now.

We are looking for a budgetary quote for renovations to a local Seaport. They plan to have a bi-fold strap door for boat access. Excerpt from structural engineering review below: Boat Access (Rossie Pentway) One of the last major features of the conceptual design is the boat access to the lower-level display. This access involves creating an approximately 11’-6” wide, two-story tall, opening in the exterior wall. This opening will contain a bifold door (Figure 11) that folds upwards to allow for tall boat exhibits to enter and exit the lower-level display. The existing masonry wall will not be suitable to support this kind of opening or door. Therefore, new steel columns will need to be installed at the jamb of each door to support the surrounding masonry and the new door. These columns will be similar to those for the typical wall reinforcing; tight to the masonry, full height, and anchored into the masonry. However, due to the additional loading of the door, they will be a larger size; W12x35. Please review and let me know if you need additional information to create a baseline quote. Marine doors Hello, We are a small marine construction company on marthas vineyard island. we have a 30 x 60 shop with a 15 wide x 14 high door to move work boats and barges out of the shop as well as cranes and other construction equipment. After 30 years of sliders we are ready for a better door. I saw your custom RV garage door (link below) and I might be interested in doing something like that for my ski boat. I would be looking at a door 10' wide and 12' tall. The garage that I would be putting this on would be built specifically for this and we are probably about a year out of building it. Previously I had a Schweiss bifold marine door with automatic stop. Push the remote and let go and it opened or closed until it hit the stop. My current hydraulic marine doors do not have that feature and I must hold the button until it is open or closed. We are looking at installing a 14'h x 28'w bifold marine door to accommodate the height of the RV and width of both the RV and Boat side by side in the garage. The style of the house is modern and I did see the bi-fold doors on the Brooklyn New York project where the exterior perforated metal material was incorporated into the face of the door.
