We are renovating a barn in Maine and would like to put 3 canopy-doors along the side (will be as much glass as possible). They will likely just be 5' tall (starting 36" off the floor) and ~10' wide. It is important that we don't need much clearance, as we have a structural beam that is 8' off the floor and we would like to maximize the glass area and opening up to that. Let me know if you think that this makes sense as an application and what the cost range might be. Are there other things that we need to worry about in terms of design?

Hello - I am working on budgeting a project called the "Lunder Innovation Labs" here in Portland, Maine. At the Schematic Design level they are specifying a Schweiss bi-fold, mechanical door. I'm hoping to get a material quote given the following parameters; Basis of Design: Schweiss Doors, custom type Type: Two-panel upward-folding door Door: Aluminum framing w. insulated glazing unit door panels Components: Power unit, lifting cables, weatherstripping and accessories Aluminum Finish: AAMA 2605, 3-coat fluoropolymer finish, 70% resin. Size; 18' wide by 9' tall. Fold appears to occur at a 5' height AFF (not sure if that is part of the design or a standard you have). Any help you can provide is appreciated ! I can provide elevation/detail drawings if required.
